Need to know more? See below for the multi-step process we use to care for your monstrance. Please keep in mind that just as each monstrance is unique, so is each restoration project. Exact timing and procedure will be determined on a case by case basis.
The Restoration Process
1) Complete disassembly of the entire item.
2) Adjustments and repairs completed for all broken or damaged parts.
3) Minor repairs made to dents, dings, etc. as necessary.
4) Fabrication or casting of any missing replacement parts completed, per customer approval.
5) Perform chemical cleaning of all parts to prepare them for replating.
6) Replate and polish all parts to match original piece, or as per customer instructions.
7) Remove all polishing compounds, using a custom designed cleaning process, avoiding any harsh chemicals or solvents, which would be harmful to the environment.
8) Reassemble item, taking care to confirm that all components are properly adjusted and aligned.
9) Inspect assembled item and ship to the customer.
